Occupational Therapy 

工作目標

職業治療是透過治療活動及遊戲,提昇學生在感官、肌能和認知等各方面的發展基礎,提高學生的學習興趣,並減低因智能不足、發展障礙、情緒或行為問題而產生的學習困難,以改善他們在自我照顧、學習和遊戲方面的能力和表現。


Aim

Occupational therapy uses therapeutic activities and games to enhance students’ foundation development of sensory, motor and cognition. It also aims to boost students’ motivation and self-esteem, reduce their learning difficulties caused by intellectual disability, developmental disorder, emotional and behavioral problems. Occupational therapists can improve students’ abilities and performances in all areas of their lives such as self-care, learning and playing skills.

形式

職業治療師會根據不同的成長階段,對學生作出詳細的評估及分析,按照他們的需要在不同的範圍進行重點訓練,設計並提供合適的治療活動及遊戲。

Methods

According to different stages of development, occupational therapists assess and analysis students. Based on their needs to carry out interventions and design suitable play activities and remedial games for students.

服務範圍

職業治療師會因應學生的需要而提供治療性的活動,其中包括:


治療師會與家長傾談學生的表現及進度,並建議合適的練習和輔助器具給學生作家居訓練之用,使治療融入學生的家中生活。同時,治療師亦為家長提供講座以提昇家長對職業治療服務的認識及家中訓練的質素。


治療師會與老師商議課程及入班與老師一起上課,將治療融入課程及教學活動中,如綜合及感知科目。


治療師於提供分享會給不同職級的員工及業界同工,配合治療方向,為學生作全天候訓練。


為促進自閉症學生的發展,治療師會和老師合作進行多感官訓練,以提昇自閉學生處理訊息及管理情緒的能力。

Scope of Services

Therapeutic activities are provided for students in need, including:

 

By merging therapy into daily life, occupational therapists talk about the progression and performance of students and give suitable exercises and assistive devices for home training. At the same time, therapists also provide educational talks for parents to enhance the understanding of occupational therapy services and quality assurance of home training.


Occupational therapists design different activities with teachers, in order to merge therapy into teaching and daily life. Perceptual Motor Training is one of the examples of their cooperation.

 

For student training purposes, occupational therapists provide talks to staff, which give directions for different position of staff.

  

Therapists cooperate with remedial teachers to carry out sensory or motor training to autistic students for enhancing their abilities of information processing and emotional self-regulation in school time.
